Not a list of nine things. One thing, then the next. A seven year old can't hold a nine-step sequence at seven in the morning. Neither can most adults.
Each step is theirs to finish and theirs to tick. The character acknowledges and moves on.
One child needs four minutes to dress, another twenty. Each step's timing is set per child, so nobody is rushed by somebody else's schedule.
The reward for a finished routine sits at the bottom of their screen the whole time. No nagging required, including from us.
